Biarritz & the South of France — You really got my heart

Biarritz — and the South of France in general — you truly captured my heart.
Even though the sun barely showed up these past few days, my heart kept shining all the time. There’s beauty in every little detail — in every café, every restaurant, and every corner of your streets.
Your architecture impressed me deeply; sometimes I felt as if I had slipped back into the 1920s. Maybe it was the best decision to spend the summer here — far away from the rush of the big city, yet still surrounded by all its comforts and a subtle touch of elegance.

At first, I expected a typical surf vibe — but it was more than that. The real vibe here is softness, elegance, and the quiet beauty of life itself. It’s nothing like Southern Italy, where life feels passionate and intense. France, instead, feels like being in love — but wanting to make everything around you beautiful, cozy, and full of charm.
And oh, the food! When I bit into an almond croissant today, I thought: Wow — this is truly the next level of food experience.
And for someone who needs to find a toilet almost every hour — what a dream: there are public toilets everywhere!
Everywhere you look, people walk by with surfboards under their arms and thick wetsuits, passing houses that look like little enchanted castles. Even the French language — I could listen to it for hours. It sounds soft, elegant, simply unique.
I’ve been to Paris and Strasbourg before, but since arriving in France in August, I’ve completely fallen in love with this country. The style, the way people dress, the way they arrange everything beautifully — even in the countryside. And of course, the food: for cheese and bread lovers, it’s pure heaven.
Now I understand why so many painters, writers, and dreamers came to France or Italy — you can’t help but feel inspired here.
The countryside near Toulouse felt like another world — a magical one. Maybe it’s the kind of world we’ll live in one day: more awareness, more love, more connection, surrounded by nature and pure life.
In Germany, everything feels more practical — our homes, our clothes, even our food. It’s all good and efficient. But here, it’s about tenderness, beauty, and attention to detail — as if even the smallest things truly matter.
It’s another way of living.
That’s why I love traveling — to see different ways of life, to learn, to expand my idea of what “home” and “living” can mean.
Sometimes I think my life needs more stability — moving from one place to another, not having a real home. But over the past weeks, I’ve learned that home is something you find within yourself.
When I arrived in Toulouse, I suddenly felt at home — not because of a specific place, but because I met someone kind, stayed a few days without plans, and simply was. I realized: home doesn’t have to be a fixed place. People and moments can give you that feeling — but ultimately, it’s an inner state.
Sometimes I doubt my choices, thinking I should return to a “proper” life — a 9-to-5 job, an apartment, weekends off, 30 days of vacation. More stability, more security.
But then I remember the vision I chose: to live fully, to experience, to learn — about myself and others — and to grow.
And in moments like this, I know I made the right choice. At least for me. At least for now.
Life is never just one direction.
It’s a map full of possibilities, turns, and dreams. We simply choose a path — and then enjoy the ride, with all its obstacles and miracles.
No regrets. Just curiosity.
Like a child seeing the world for the first time — open, unexpecting, and full of wonder.
✨ Life as it is.
So — where are you heading in life right now?
Which map have you chosen for yourself?
And are you enjoying the ride?
